1. Continual Education
Nobody knows everything. You will want to ask your prospective wedding photographer if they have had formal training, and if they do anything for continual learning. A great photographer will ensure that they are always continuing their education by taking classes and attending conferences.
Unfortunately, perfect weather is not a guarantee for your wedding day. You will want to make sure you book a photographer that can not only shoot with gorgeous natural lighting, but that they also bring their own lights in case the sun is not cooperating.
Another thing you will want to check on is that the photographer carries insurance. The last thing you want is one of your guests knocking over a light and being liable. Finding a photographer who has insurance can give you peace of mind.
4. Photo Lab
Have you ever taken a photo to get printed to realize that it looked better on the computer? Find a professional photographer that values great prints and products. Ask them if they have a professional lab they use and if they have lab recommendations.
5. Passworded Galleries
In this day and age, nothing seems to be private. But, your wedding gallery should be open only to those you choose. Make sure to find a photographer that will deliver your gallery of images securely so that you can sit down as a couple and look at your photos before the whole world sees them.
